At Alta Blu, building a strong community is important to us, both on our property and off. That’s why through the end of the year, A/B will be collecting women’s work attire to donate to our local chapter of Dress for Success. Here’s the scoop on how Dress for Success works, whom it helps and how you can support this worthy cause.

Dress for Success Triangle is celebrating its 10th year serving under-employed and unemployed women in the area by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Since its founding in 2008, our local Dress for Success has served over 14,500 women. In fact, the Triangle affiliate has become one of the most successful in a worldwide network of 139 affiliates.

Dress for Success is volunteer-powered. They have more than 350 volunteers who sort and inventory donated clothing and accessories, provide image and career coaching, assist with resumes, conduct mock interviews and help facilitate or deliver training and networking programs.

Dress for Success offers a number of volunteer opportunities for those looking to donate their time. The organization also hosts boutique sales events, where you can shop new and gently used designer clothing, handbags, jewelry and accessories at up to 90 percent off retail prices. Your purchase then benefits Dress for Success’s area programs and services (in fact, boutique sales fund nearly one-third of their budget). The next sale is November 22 & 23 at the Northgate Mallbe sure to stop by!

But perhaps the easiest way to show your support is to donate new or gently used clothing and accessories to the organizationhere’s a list of what’s accepted and most urgently needed. So comb your current closet and bring your items down to the front desk in a bag labeled for donation. We’ll handle the rest.

We’ll be accepting contributions through the end of this year. If you have any questions, just ask someone on the A/B team for more info.We appreciate any help you can give, and we are grateful to have you as part of our A/B community.
